2018 Toyota Prius Tire Pressure Light Reset

The following guide will show you how to reset the tire pressure warning light on the 2018 Toyota Prius.

In many of the 4th generation (XW50) Toyota Prius models you can find a tire pressure monitoring system built-in.

This useful feature keeps track of the pressure in all four of your tires and alerts you to any that are low or deflating quickly.

A tire that is deflating quickly has most likely developed a puncture and will require patching up or replacing very soon.

Once you have reinflated your tires to the correct PSI (which you can find here)  you may notice that the warning light continues to illuminate.

To reset this tire pressure warning light in your Prius you will need to follow a few simple steps broken down below:

  1. Make sure that you have parked your car somewhere safe and switch it completely OFF to begin the steps.
  2. Turn your Prius ON but do not start the engine, you can do this by turning the power ON but not pushing on the brake pedal at the same time.
  3. Using the directional pad buttons on your Prius’ steering wheel cycle sideways through the options to find the GEAR icon.
  4. Select the GEAR icon using the center button, now use the UP and DOWN buttons to choose the VEHICLE SETTINGS and select it the same way.
  5. Using the UP and DOWN buttons you need to select the MAINTENANCE SYSTEM option and enter that menu using the center button.
  6. By pressing UP and DOWN you can cycle through to find the TPMS menu and select it using the center button again.
  7. With this new menu open you need to hold the center button until the instrument cluster display in front of you says “Initialization Complete”.
